An Air North 737 passenger jet (most likely a 737-500 with twin GE engines) takes off from the Erik Nielsen International Airport in Whitehorse, Yukon at 12:00 p.m. on April 17, 2024. The aircraft can be heard, faintly, as it accelerates down the runway and finally lifts off very close to (but not directly overhead) from the recording position near the end of the tarmac.
The recording was made with a handheld Zoom H2n in 150-degree stereo mode. At around the 30-second mark, the recorder was panned about 90 degrees to follow the plane's continued ascent into the distance.
