Why? Because as it currently is: All sound requests drowns in vocal requests. There goes 1 sample request on 10 vocal requests.

...a few months later:

DJ drop requests forum please.

Why? Because as it currently is: All vocal requests drowns in DJ drop requests. There goes 1 vocal request on 10 DJ drop requests.

Sorry, I couldn't resist! grin But on a more serious note, motion seconded.

I wonder if the software support subforums.

A simplistic solution would be to require voice requests to have [Voice Request] at the beginning of the subject.

Its not like there are hundreds of threads created each day in 'sample requests'...

Maybe we should compile the top 100+ most common first and last names in the world and separately record them along with a handful of common intro/outro phrases. Users can assemble their custom DJ Drops piecemeal:

1. Intro selection: [This is...] [You listening to...] [Get ready for toe-tapping with...] [Sick ass dub beats presented by...] etc.

2. Prefix if applicable: [DJ] [MC] [Master] [Doctor] [King] [Sexy] [Slick] [Funky] etc.

3. First name: [Aaron] [Abel] [Abbie] [Albert] [Alice] etc.

4. Surname: [Anderson] [Allen] [Ahmed] [Alvarez] etc.

There are sure a lot of needy DJs out there.

This sounds like fresh fun presented by MC DJ Professor stomachache!

Here's my take: http://freesound.org/people/qubodup/sounds/183996/

I doubt stars strive for common names though. smile

Sometimes I feel a bit responsible for all the DJ requests, since we used to do a lot of them. Now we don't. But anyway, sorry!
But perhaps Mr. Stomachache's idea is a good one.

Woah! There's just been a sudden surge of vocal requests in my 2 day absence. Now I really have changed my stance on the new sub-forum.

We could have one forum for all vocal requests:

Vocal requests: Announcements, DJ tags etc.
