Would this "sound credit mode" in games encourage you to check out an indie game and suggest free sounds you’ve already made that would fit, provided the developer credits you?

I am already considering this! I am currently writing the OSD module (on screen display), and every time I play a sound I thought it would be cool to just make the creator name appear somewhere along the bottom edge along with the site eg Freesound.

I like that idea. Sound people are always in the back seat.

There’s an ongoing discussion in the Freesound off-topic forum about whether sound credits should be displayed in real time during playback. This raises important questions about balancing proper attribution with keeping the interface uncluttered. Some users feel that dynamic credits could better highlight sound creators, while others worry it might distract from the experience. Designing UI elements that respect creators without overwhelming users is a key challenge. For those curious about different approaches to layout and information display, a quick look at betting-eg.com can provide some inspiration, even though it’s in a different context. Ultimately, this conversation shows how thoughtful design can promote community recognition while maintaining usability.
