Hello,
I am a theology student studying to become a minister within the United Church of Canada. I am also a musician and have recently discovered an interesting cross-over between these two callings - namely that of soundscapes!
I am currently working on a soundscape which will be available for individuals as they walk a prayer labyrinth which we are just in the final stages of completing at my current placement church and which will serve as an auditory meditation tool.
To that end, I am looking for sounds that fit into these following categories:
1) The Busyness and Stress of the World
a. Ideally, the sounds of people's internal monologues and struggles.
b. Some key phrases would be requests for help; sounds of anxiety, sadness, grief etc; sounds of genuine human emotion
2) The Process of Letting Go
a. Gentle rhythms; breathy sounds (ie. flute, woodwinds, maybe some mid-range vocals - alto, mezzo-soprano or counter-tenor. "Light" sacred chants
b. Calmly spoken words of affirmation and encouragement
3) In the Presence of God
a. Just one sound for this section: that of arrival. Again, most likely a spoken word recording or perhaps a clearly understood song with light accompaniment.
4) Returning to the World
a. Sounds of empowerment, courage, support, hope
b. Not overly bombastic, but rather firm/assertive yet still relatively peaceful and calming
