These slowed recordings are intriquing. I think because you are using a non symmetric object the sounds are more distorted. Would you be willing to try with a symmetric object like a sphere, half sphere, ring, or rod/cylinder? The high tensile steel you are using with the spanner (I would say wrench) is very good for this as it rings easily. Brass, aluminum, cast iron, or pewter would probably give a duller sound. Hanging from a string while striking with another spanner would work well too. Thanks for your samples.
