Couple of minutes of soccer/crowd noise at a feyenoord game, the kuip stadium in rotterdam, netherlands.
This was mixed for t.v. broadcast and quickly recorded to the line in of my macbook.
Neumann km 140 mics for crowd noise, sennheiser 416p's at the pitch, into a lawo mc66/2 desk. Stereo, dolby pro logic II encoded.

I had 8 416's around the pitch, in front of the adsigns, and the ambi mics were also on the pitch, aimed at the crowd.. I myself was outside of the stadium in the tv truck though :)

I was just surprised how well I can hear the kicks of a ball.
Crowd is a bit far. Were you seated away from ordinary people?
