There is more here than rain and thunder. In the background you can hear voices, doors closing, and a piano. All that I heard in just quick 30-second preview of it.

Beautiful really. Reminds me of the time when I was a child, lying in my bed and falling asleep while the blackbirds were singing. Thanks!

It's hard to find quietude...sounds like you do what I do, just give up on the original target and start recording the distractions :)

    Thanks for sharing.

This symbolisese the strange world of the field recorder. Is the mixture of extranneous noises a problem or is it beauty in another form. I think the latter. The skylark is a species under threat from modern encroachment. This IS its world now and it finds a place among the machines but the joy is it is singing as only the skylark can. It survives.
I had a similar experience last year when the song of the skylark was drowned out by nearby industry.
I think that seeing a skylark fall fluttering and singing from the sky in its staged dive is as good as life gets.

    Great upload.

Very nice. I can almost picture the movement of the bell (and/or its clapper) while listening to this...

Indeed, fantastic. It told me a story. I see you got pictures to go with your sounds on your website. When I imagine the Scottish nature I hear nothing but beautiful sounds.

nchadney - You are by far my favorite sampling artist on Freesound. We have an afinity in our tastes. I wanted you to know that I used this sample as a background track in one of my remixes called City Sweeper. - J. S. Bullock a.k.a bullockjs

A very nice dawn chorus. Shame about the deep bass buzz that's on it. But you can easily remove it with an audio app like Audacity.
