The Eilenriede
is a fairly large forest in Hanover and on that Sunday in August it was
raining. One can hear the rain, some distant traffic and a plane
overhead. All that was recorded with a Sharp MD-DR 470H minidisk player
and the Soundman OKM II.

If you listen carefully, there's a noise at about 21 seconds that sounds sort of like a computer dialog warning. Did you have a computer nearby?
Anyway, I chopped that out and spliced several dozen copies of this sound together to make a 2-hour-long mp3 that I can fall asleep to.
