Here is a bizarre old remote control for a Zenith TV. I believe it worked by mechanically hammering on metal tines with a spring loaded hammer thrown by a button. It had four buttons and I hit them all in the recording. There's a variety of different mic positions in this sample; some that pick up just the button, some more the tine's tones. Multiple presses in quick succession and individual. Recorded on a Zoom h4.

It generated acoustics the tv set would hear. That's why the were called "clickers."
