I agree with you 100%. We seem to want everything maximized. I have done some volume matching of recorded vs real sounds, and it's amazing how quiet many things actually are...nice to see you keep it that way...who needs a 10,000KW fridge sound :)

some things in our environment are just very silent.
making things louder does not always make things better...
the original footage is 24/88.2 so nothing is lost...

Good sound but the low volume ruins it, if you want to hear anything all you end up hearing is pervading noise. Shame because it has potential.
