NightFallNhood version 2 9 28 2025

A peaceful, calming outdoor small-town soundscape. This was recorded on September 8 2025 at 7:30 at night in a small Midwestern Town. For my equipment, I used a dynamic microphone; the Heil PR40 going into my Sound Devices MixPre 3 version ii.
Since it is a dynamic microphone I had my gain cranked to 73 decibels. But, once again the pristine Sound Devices Preamps were up to the task.

Towards the end of this recording, some crickets come a little bit closer to the microphone and you can hear them, layered over the surrounding nightscape. These handsome critters begin their singing at 14 minutes and 5 seconds into this Mono recording.

Enjoy this slice of Sunday night outside quiet.

In this world we live in, I strongly believe quiet, like this, is a necessity.
