This is me going through the ritual of lighting the fire. First the ash is removed and the hearth swept; Next newspaper is lit in he grate; sticks are layed onto the burning paper; the sticks burn until the coal is tipped from he scuttle, catching light as the fire spits and cracks.
Recorded Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, 17th January 2007. Using Acer Laptop, Edirol UA-25 and AKG C 1000 S.

Sorry for my english...
yeah man it sounds great! nearly exactly what i needed. I vote 8, because nothing is perfect and i hoped less metallic sound and may be some paper burning.
But... Almost perfect.
Nice work anyway.
I'll use it to make my own perfect (for me of course) fire rituel.
