This sound is reminiscent of some effects in various Star Wars scenes where a vessel of some sort flies away from the camera. The first half of this sound is more of what you would think of as departure, and the most-likely-to-be-useful portion. The second half is essentially the inverse (though not a reverse of the first half) -- where the engine sound comes closer. All together, these form a seamless loop, but I doubt it will prove useful as such. Still, you could start near the middle, and loop back around to near the middle, to get the sound of a fly-by or fly-over. So you have some flexibility here. This is totally synthetic, created in Cool Edit Pro.
