Not sure if there are any daring Freesounders around...
If you are one of those brave few, would you consider celebrating free VST software by creating a piece using (as many as you want) of the last 10 VSTs uploaded to www.vst4free.com?
At the top of the page you find "What's new?" click that and it will show you the latest VSTs added to the database.
I also encourage you to leave comments on the VSTs that you use.
Post a link to your music piece here.
The vsti I want to tell you is ZynAddSubFx, a free vst you can find in SourceForge.
I consider it the best for my musical creations. The sound produced is very gentle, mysterious, romantic. It has three engines inside and you can mix the sound of them producing very intense sounds, filling the ears of transporting and impressive music. The additive engine has the possibility to add 8 layers to your instrument. Not all, you can play until 8 instruments simultaneously. The creativity choice with it is huge.
I added some of my ZynAddSubFx sounds in Freesound. You can download my ZynAddSubFx instruments through the link http://wp.me/p3znRN-bW
There is another set of free vstis I want to quote: those of H.G.Fortune.
Many of them are samplers. You produce the SF2 bank of your samples and then you play it with the H.G.Fortune vstis.
Just not to bore you with technical informations, I redirect you to the post of my blog:

Okay I’m first out.
I have a reason… Well, the not that original title ”Falling Apart” refers to 1) my headphones 2) my version of Dark Wave Studio. Yes, believe it or not I have a DAW (on my work computer)…
I used these VSTs 1) PG-8X (Roland JX-8P emulator), HY-Reso (Parallel bandpass filters) and 3) Gigaverb (Reverb).
If I tried to change any parameters on PG-8X or Gigaverb the program freezes. I managed to play with HY-Reso. So I couldn’t do very much more than a simple pattern and record. Take a photo of my falling appart headphones and edit. Post on CS and write this text. Done.

(Yep I misspelled "apart" in the title.... Sorry for that...)
beautiful work gis_sweden,
simple and strong.
I would really like to join this dare
because is open and musical, and because I already use many vst from vst4free...
but never solved latency troubles on my machine.
I'll give a try... maybe useless.
anyway I'll be here to listen and clap at your works
ciao

Hi cajo
Are you using the asio4all driver? Often solves latency problems.

in the future I'll buy a stronger audiocard, and a new usb keyboard.
then I'll be more present here
