This is the thunderstorm I have waited for a long time ;) I used my cheaper MBHO MBNM410 omnidirectional microphones because I was afraid they could be damaged by the water.I recorded out of my balcony. This sample is just a cut. At the end there is some noise because i had to pull the microphones into the door because of the rain. At one time, there was a thunder with such dynamics that there was a shortcut of the microphones phantom power, this did not sound very well, I just cut this part. But I was afraid my mics could have been damaged ;) I did not apply any compression, thus, be careful with you loudspeakers ... The recording was made with 50cm AB recording setup. The Preamp was a RME Quadmic connected to a Multiface II Interface.
