Sounds recorded by women of Bangladesh, Pakistan and India, and their families; as participants of a Sons de Barcelona workshop at Sukhmani Indian Association, Barcelona.
This is part of a series of workshops done in collaboration with Casa Asia, that attempt to explore how immigrant communities in Barcelona would represent themselves through sound. Participants are provided with recorders that they can take with themselves and use daily, during a period of time.
In the workshop we reflect collectively on the relation between the recorded sounds, and their cultural significance for the participants. Attempting to not depart from any preconceived idea of the participant's cultural identity.
