    Faster moderating (or more moderators)

It's been a day or two since I uploaded some sound effects and I'm still waiting for them to be approved. It's taking too long and I have some people on other sites who are waiting to see them.

Can't freesound appoint more moderators to speed up the process?

Hey, hasty person. It's holiday time, you know? All moderators are just volunteers. Each with their own private agenda. Perhaps they also prepare for new year? Have a little patience please .....
    Happy New Year.

Okay. This is my first time with freesound, so cut me some slack, okay? I don't know how long it normally takes, and like I said, others are waiting for them to upload. I don't know the ropes on Freesound.

    Thanks for the link. smile

Just curious, how long does it usually take, on a normal day, for sounds to be approved. Just from past experience.

As pointed out it is holiday time for most people. It usually takes 1-2 days for moderation, sometimes 3. We have to listen to all the sounds (usually around 200-300 at any time). Sometimes we have to spend some time trying to determine the source of the sound (many people think because they "found it on youtube" or they "got this from a sample cd" that it is ok to upload. I see your name in the queue, there is someone who uploaded over 100 sounds before I get to yours though.
    Hang in there!

Sorry for being so hasty. I did record these myself, and processed them as well.

I didn't realize just how busy it is during the holidays.

I suggest adding "How long does it normally take for my uploaded sounds to get approved?" to the freesound faq. I myself had the same question a couple days ago.

+1 for updating the FAQ, as I too have had this question being a relative newbie to Freesound. Fantastic site, though!

    Sound uploaded - March 21.
Today is March 26. Still "pending".
Problems inside the system or moderation circle?

Two sound files uploaded - May 1st.
Today is May 3rd. Still "Sounds waiting for moderation" Status.

BTW: I would be glad to help out with-in the moderation circles; in-order to help out the community...

Sometimes it takes up to a week for sounds to get modded. Please read the other replies above or on the previous pages in this (and other) threads.

The queue gets quite large at times.

We do our best to clear the list.

    Thanks for your patience. smile

Not to "bump" this section on purpose, but I posted my sound on the 14th and it is still Pending. How long does it normally take? Also, I have tons of free time on my hands and would like to spend the time moderating sounds. I studied film and sound at Liberty University and could offer some good support.
