Colors on wav forms in Flash Player

Maybe it is obvious... but what do the colors mean on the wave form

(i.e. why is there more than one color, what does it represent?)

    Example on mine:

    Thanks in advance...

Sure like Freesound - great place to learn and publish work.

The colours are frequency information as well as amplitude.

The darker/ bluer colours are low freq, lighter/redder high freq.

Have a look at the third one down here http://media.freesound.org/files/newplayer/

There is a popup control by the play button (3rd along) which will illustrate.

And very long samples are all white, I think because for these the analysis would take too long on the server. And would crash or choke up or whatever. So if you ever see white previews, that's because those are too long.

Thanks, that more than answers my question.
