I need a female voice actor to record a couple of lines for a project of mine. It's going to be for a computer making an announcement. However, I'm not looking for something stiff and clinical, but just a basic delivery of the line. Preferably, I'd like someone with just a plain American accent.

The line is "Emergency in Layer One: Maintenence."

After that there's going to be a ten-minute countdown, and the computer warns the player during the last five minutes, and more frequently in the last minute. To that end, I'll also need...

"Five minutes remaining." And so on, down to one minute. After that...

"Thirty seconds remaining." And...

"Ten seconds remaining."

I really look forward to hearing from someone about this. Of course I'll credit you in my project however you prefer.

Giving this a bump. If no women want to do this, I guess I'd settle for a man too. Anyone?

I'm a man, I could do this if you still need some help. Samples of my voice at hpmor.libsyn.com (though I have a bit of a cold in the latest episode, may want to check one of the previous ones). Hit me at embrodski AT gmail DOT com if you'd like.

What do you mean, exactly?

As much as I'd like to check out what you sound like, my internet is prohibitively slow. (Dial up. sad ) If you have any isolated samples, though...

I'm a girl.
You want this evil, sweet or without any emotions, with effects or clean and which file format would you like?
It'd be good to know the context tho. An announcer for some psycho sci-fi-meltdown scenario would be a lot different than the countdown for a fun game show.

I can get something together. I'll record it later today.

Go ahead, I like having options.

Also, Timbre, that's nice of you, although I already reworked them myself. Also, why did you save them as FLAC when the source files were MP3?

Because MP3 is lossy compression and adds noise and artifacts, FLAC is lossLESS compression and doesn't add either.

Having taken the trouble to (partially) clean the original I didn't want to re-introduce noise and artifacts by saving as MP3.

This is what the "Emergency in Layer One" part sounds like. I will have the countdown part ready soon, and will add in the "maintenance" part.

This I already knew. I'm going to be honest... I can't tell the difference between a high-quality MP3 and something like WAV or FLAC. But, whatever you say.

As for you, snaginneb, I will listen to your recording later on. Thanks. smile
