.wav 16bit
This is part of a collection of two recordings, exported in various formats to try to establish which format sounds better/more pure.
Please comment as I'm looking for opinions specifically on this.
Thanks

Hi. I agree completely. These recordings were made when I only had a minidisc recorder. I now have the ability to record in 24bit 96khz .wav, and I do this always now. Depending on the file size to upload here, I will use .wav or .Flac files.
This one seems 'better' as it is 24/96 qualty:

Thanks for observing.

wav or generally any lossless format would be better for this background noise type recording as it can pick out the finer details, one way the mp3 format compresses audio is by taking out frequencies that are over lapping binding them in a way where you cant really notice, but you kinda can. although the crappyness of mp3 can be preferred these days over wav in the same way people prefer vinyl as its warmer. i have been looking for a clear raindrop sample for a few hours now and its hard to find one with out so much of the background roar .
