A DD-AR powered by a 1700 series from NS pulling into Blaak station. A Plan V arrives a little later from the opposite direction. DD-AR leaves (you can clearly hear the 1700 powering up) and the Plan V leaves slightly later. I really wanted to record the Plan V EMU because they are about to be replaced after 40 (!) years of reliable service. Recorded on Sunday morning December 7th, 2009; at Blaak station in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Blaak is an underground mainline station so a good place for recording trains regardless of weather conditions. However, trains moving through tunnels generate airwaves that the microphones have difficulties coping with. Sony PCM-D50
