Thunder in suburban Melbourne, light rain. A wide variety of different strikes, good for drama, easy to EQ for different emphasis. One massive overhead strike about 6:15 in.

When that strike happened I was really torn between crapping myself, doing my Happy Dance and feeling a little let down that the strike didn't roll out for a long time with the lower frequencies. But Lightning's like that. If the clap is directly overhead, you don't get any LF echo... because you're right THERE. THAT's your sound. You only get the rumble if you're about a kilometer or more away from the source.

Great recording! Between 6:14 and 6:25 the close strike is really frightening and amazing at once!
