@papa4life Ek bedoel NIE Nederlands nie, en Afrikaans is beslis nie Nederlands nie. Ja, dit is 'n dogtertaal wat sy oorsprong in Nederlands het, maar dit het sedert die 18de eeu apart ontwikkel en is heeltemal 'n taal op sy eie wat deur meer as 15 miljoen mense gepraat word. In heelwat opsigte is dit soortgelyk, maar dit is ook nader aan Vlaams.

(Translation: I do NOT mean Dutch, and Afrikaans is definitely not Dutch. Yes, is is a daughter language and has its origins in Dutch, but it has developed separately since the 18th century and is language on its own spoken by more than 15 million people. It does have many similarities, but is also closer to Flemish.)
