This sound is assignment 10(b) submitted for the ASPMA course.
Transformation of sounds played by several sound instruments used in Indian orchestra such as sitar, tabla and bell. Sine Transformation of SMS-Tools is used for the Frequency Scaling and Time Scaling.
Audacity is used to open the sounds downloaded from Freesound and then converted to 44100Hz sampling frequency and mono sound, if necessary.
The 1 minute sound for this assignment was formed by joining 6 separate mixing with some are transformed sound.
The sound downloaded from Freesound are:
Sound 1 (time 0:00s to 8:50s)

Step:
Mix all three bell sounds to create a more powerful, brighter and fuller sound. No transformation was done. Must resample 48KHz sound to 44.1KHz using Audacity.
Group 2 (time 17:50s to 19:85s)
===============================
200317__fantom57__03-tar-d4 (transform sound by frequency scaling)
URL: http://www.freesound.org/people/Fantom57/sounds/200317/
Frequency scaling: 10% (to obtain a very lower pitch).
Time scaling: no change
The extreme frequency scaling has turned the sitar sound close to drum sound.
Group 3 (time 8:50s to 17:50s)
==============================
44349__mamax__hip-hop-sitar-melody (transform sound by time scaling)
URL: http://www.freesound.org/people/mamax/sounds/44349/
147896__mannhawks__mark-sitar-03 (original)
URL: http://www.freesound.org/people/mannhawks/sounds/147896/
Step:
The objective is to mix two sitar sounds of different duration and blend the two sounds with the same melody.
Used Time Scaling to double the duration of the sound, 44349.
Mixed the transformed sound with 147896.
Group 4 (time 19:85s to 32:56s)
===============================
114224__lewk__tabla-fill-1 (transform sound by frequency and time scaling)
URL: http://www.freesound.org/people/lewk/sounds/114224/
Frequency scaling: 40% (to obtain a lower pitch).
Time scaling: 4 (slow down the beat)
Group 5 (time 32:56s to 44:50s)
===============================
114226__lewk__table-beat-0 (transform sound by frequency and time scaling)
URL: http://www.freesound.org/people/lewk/sounds/114226/
Frequency scaling: 0.7 (to obtain a lower pitch).
Time scaling: 4 (slow down the beat)
The transformation has created an interesting sound very different from the original tabla sound.
Group 6 (time 44:50s to 60:00s)
===============================
200317__fantom57__03-tar-d4 (transform sound by frequency scaling)
URL: http://www.freesound.org/people/Fantom57/sounds/200317/
Frequency scaling: 0.1 (to obtain a very lower pitch).
Time scaling: no change
This sound is similar to the one used in Group 2.However, 2 identical sounds were manually shifted by about 10ms to change the sharp note into bassy sound that sounded more like hitting a large drum. The drum sound was used 5 times and gradually reducing the amplitude to create a fading effect to end the music.
Detail description of each sound can be found from Freesound.
