This is in response to a request for "melodrama" piano music. This is a (copyright-expired) piano roll of selections from the Follies of 1910, played by me on our 1910 Hallet-Davis upright player piano. The songs are 1) Pensacola Mooch; 2) I Will Be Your Chantecler; 3) Lovie Joe; 4) Nix, On the Glow-worm, Lena. During quiet moments you can hear me pumping the pedals, the sound of the wind motor, the paper on the spools, etc. The volume is controlled by a lever on the piano (by hand). There is a line on the player roll telling the "player pianist" where to put the volume lever. I am not happy with the mic'ing but I ran out of time. I'll keep experimenting.
Here is the box label:

Here is some more info I found on the web( http://books.google.com/books?id=DISRvw0CRl0C ):
1) The Pensacola Mooch - Composer: Will Marion Cook; Lyricist: Joe Jordan; Publisher: Harry von Tilzer
2) I Will Be Your Chantecler - Composer: Harry von Tilzer; Lyricist: Addison Burkhardt; Publisher: Harry von Tilzer
3) Lovie Joe - Composer: Will Marion Cook; Lyricist: Joe Jordan; Publisher: Harry von Tilzer
4) Nix, On the Glow-worm, Lena - Composer: Harry Carroll; Lyricist: Ballard MacDonald; Publisher: Jos. W. Stem
Since these were from the 1910 Follies, I am pretty sure they are all copyright 1910 like it says on the box label.
