timpano (kettle drum) played with a superball mallet. three swells of higher tones, like some odd wind instrument or feedback, with a noisy scraping sound. creepy. (this is an acoustic recording, no effects have been added! the apparent reverb is from the drum itself, not the room)

There's a loud static-like noise on this file as well as the other timpani superball files for some reason. Anybody have any idea? When I download wav or aif files I don't have this problem. But the flac files seem to have a lot of disturbance.
this sound creates such a mysterious mood.
