Hello,
I'm still working on the skeleton sounds. I initially tried zombie sounds, but somehow they sounded too much like dogs.
I then chose the "horror talk" sounds by Klankbeeld for the skeleton voices and I chose the "pig slaughter" sounds by dobroide.
I feel they don't go together well. The sounds by Klankbeeld are perfect, spooky with a supernatural intelligence. The pig sounds are shocking yet obviously too natural.
So, unfortunately, I'd like to replace the pig sounds.
I'm looking for a death cry that sounds ghostly, powerful, with a sense of anguish yet at the same time a release, and furthermore still piercing enough to be heard during gunfire.
If there's one already done that you could suggest that would be ideal.
If someone would be so kind as to make one, that would be fantastic, but all I can offer at the moment is an in-game credit.
Thanks for your time.

This is very eerie! I think it'd be very suitable for either a skeleton's spawn or death; the reversal of the sound creates a sense of departure. It is more a a gasp, but maybe that's what I meant all along.

Again a perfect choice, it's very flexible, usable for spawn, death, for a close shock or even a fast fly by, especially with 3D in-game doppler effect. I like that each sound is similar yet dissimilar. Very powerful.
The other two sounds you listed are equally effective, but the two I have mentioned above due to their structure particularly lend themselves to use in a game. The skeletons randomly produce sounds but to a pattern. The shorter the sound they make the better, it uses less memory and allows simultaneous playing, the Xbox has a maximum of 300 concurrent sounds, but it's main flaw is memory size.
I could easily split these sounds apart and alter the pitch for each play.
I would very much like to use these sounds in my game. They are not immediately available for commercial use. I ask for your permission to use these sounds, please!
Please send me a message!
Thank You

Thanks Klankbeeld,
You've saved the day, again! I've downloaded the sounds, they're perfect. I might shorten them a little, I had a go using Audacity and it worked well.
I like the way the voice sounds otherworldly and then at the end becomes recognisably human, as though during the death process a benign transformation occurred.
I really do appreciate your hard work and skill. When the game goes live and I finally get some cash, I'll be more than happy to donate, I can't now as I'm unemployed
Thanks.

Thanks for all the compliments @Garold.
And about the donation. First you and your family, thats your first responsibility.
Have fun and I hope 'we all freesounders' give you the energy, inspiration and luck to find a wonderful job in this difficult economic times.
