Hi I am looking for DJ drop to spice up the parties on the cruise ship I work on, the crew volunteers and play music in our crew bar every night for our peers, I just want to spice it up a little. I am looking for some one to say all or any of the following
"Rockin' the boat like no other DJ B is in the mix"
"If the boats a rockin' Dj B is in the spot"
"Dj B"
"It's a Crew Bar Bashment, Dj B in the mix"
Thanks in advance we work hard out here for our customers, these drops will help break the sometimes long 10 month contracts, if you can think of anything else related to sailing, boats or cruise ships I am open to suggestions.
Attempt to repair the first phrase of Pyr0x's reading here http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=102779
It would take me hours to improve the whole sample to the same extent (or a few minutes for Pyr0x to readjust his mic set-up).
If you must use this very close mouth-mic distance try putting a cotton sock (or 2 or 3) over your mic, and/or extra layer(s) of stocking fabric on the pop shield.
Id move the mic further away from the mic too: the clicks/pops are the mic diaphragm taking a helluva beating from your breath and saliva, (not mouth noise).

I was definitely going for a heavier proximity effect on this one. I have a double-layered pop filter and was even using some "side micing" technique (projecting more to the edge of the capsule versus the middle of the diaphragm). I may need to invest in a windscreen for closer micing. I'd prefer sliding a windscreen over my mic versus a sock
I'll try to do a re-take soon.
Thanks.
edit: actually I'll just do a retake only if beware requests it.

The sock(s) will do the job, provided they don't foul any anti-vibration mount , maybe baby socks would be a better fit.
The socks do have an advantage over a foam windscreen in that you can easily add or subtract layers until you reach the optimum,
(if you add too many layers of fabric the sound will lose high freqiency content and sound dull, if so remove a layer).
It would probably sound pretty stupid if I did it, but I would recommend putting out a request for someone with a Scottish accent to say: "Captain... there be DJ B here" ala Scotty from Star Trek IV's "Captain... there be whales here!". That would certainly be an interesting nautical themed DJ drop.
